Remedyforce to JSM: A Specialist Atlassian Implementation Partner Completes Migration Leveraging Precision Bridge

When a specialist Atlassian implementation partner set out to migrate Service Request data from BMC Remedyforce into Jira Service Management (JSM), the project came with a structural requirement that standard tools could not solve: preserving the relationship between parent work items and their subtasks, together with all associated attachments. Standard CSV import does not support migrating attachments while preserving this hierarchy, so the partner turned to the Precision Bridge Data Migration and Management Platform to deliver a migration that CSV-based methods simply could not support.

Delivering the Migration

The partner used the Precision Bridge Data Migration and Management Platform to migrate parent work items and their subtasks as connected structures, attachments included. Precision Bridge's support team worked closely with the partner throughout the project to identify and map fields accurately, ensuring the hierarchy and historical context of every record carried through into the new environment intact.

The migration was completed within six weeks, with over 80,000 records, including all workflow notes, comments and attachments, migrated accurately and parent-subtask relationships fully preserved in JSM. The partner estimated that achieving the same outcome manually would have taken around a year, a timeline the Precision Bridge Data Migration and Management Platform reduced considerably while maintaining complete data integrity throughout.
